Another edition of our mostly-monthly developer meetup will happen November 29th. We hope you can join us this time to go over some of the topics we didn’t get to at the last meeting 🙂
If you plan to attend please RSVP on the Facebook event listing for the meetup.
If you want to be automatically facebook-invited to future events please join our facebook group.
Time and location
Nov 29 19:00h
devLAB Montreal (Thanks, devLAB!)
388 rue Saint-Jacques
Montréal , QC , H2Y1S1
Who is this for?
Any plugin or theme developer! Some PHP knowledge will be required. This meet up will be centered around PHP coding for WordPress and will be dealing with PHP issues at various skill levels (starter to advanced). Also, this is also a great place for those wishing to learn more about WordPress development.
We will be hosting a workshop discussing one or two topics from the list below. If you’d like us to cover a specific topic on this or have topics you would like us to cover, feel free to let us know by commenting in this event. We will be posting the topics for this month’s event a few days prior to the meetup following your feedback
Topics so far are:
- Workflow and SVN: best practices.
- how to best organize functions in plugins/themes
- Frontend optminization through smarter plugin api use.
- HTML5 and WordPress
- Submitting patches for core
- Integration with other systems
- Writing extensible code for future use
- Extending WordPress objects (e.g. Walkers)
If you are particularly interested in a specific topic above please leave a comment saying so 🙂
Just a reminder to bring your laptop (if you have one) as well as some questions or coding/development issues you’d like to talk about as a group. If you have a lesson you learned that you’d like to share with the group bring that along too.
