wpmtl.org is the permanent site for the Montreal WordPress community.
wcmtl.org is a shortlink that will always forward to the current WordCamp site, changing each year with new sites for each event.
Explanation
This site lives at the domain wpmtl.org, which stands for WordPress Montreal. The site was created in 2011 to give a home to what we call the Montreal WordPress Community, which refers to the volunteer organizers of WordCamp Montreal and the various meetups (developer, social) as well as the wider community who make our events a success by attending, participating, volunteering and doing presentations.
This is not the website for WordCamp Montreal! For information about the next/most-recent WCMTL event you should always check wcmtl.org, which is a shortlink that will point to the website for the current year, for example 2011.montreal.wordcamp.org, since we will be hosting the main event website on the wordcamp.org servers. We will try to keep both sites up to date with all the latest news about WordPress events in Montreal, but when in doubt wcmtl.org is the site for WordCamp, and wpmtl.org is the site for the wider community.
We know, this is confusing! Luckily both sites will always link back and forth to each other, so you should only be a click away from your actual destination. Besides, at least you don’t have to remember that the .com and .org websites are totally different things
Banner and content photos
Around the site can be found photos that illustrate the community. These are all Creative Commons photos found on flickr or donated to us by their creators. WPMTL thanks the following delightful creators for their open-content photo contributions to the community:
- Elida – helping you succeed visually – WCMTL 2010 photos
- Eva Blue – WCMTL 2009 photos
I would like to add social media buttons to my website and have them interactive with the site amd each other – any links, références or suggestions?
Many, many thanks,
Maurene White
