WordCamp Montreal is a conference about the world’s most popular blogging and CMS software, WordPress. Developers, designers, and bloggers will come together for WordPress-related talks, workshops and networking.
WordCamps are held across the world, wherever there are enough users of the software to self-organize. The WordCamp.org site summarizes:

History of WCMTL
WORDCAMP MONTREAL 2009: JULY 11
Our first event took place in July 2009 at the SAT, and was a huge success with almost 150 participants attending the two days of activity. WordCamp Montreal 2009 was organized by Sylvain Carle and Jeremy Clarke.
WORDCAMP MONTREAL 2010: AUGUST 28-29
A year later we held our second event August 28-29, 2010 at the UQAM Coeur des Sciences, where almost 200 people came to teach and learn about WordPress. WordCamp Montreal 2010 was organized by Shannon Smith, Brendan Sera-Sriar and Jeremy Clarke,
WORDCAMP MONTREAL 2011: JULY 9-10
In 2011, WordCamp Montreal again took place at UQAM, and we had almost 300 attendees. WordCamp Montreal 2011 was organized by Jeremy Clarke, Shannon Smith, Brendan Sera-Shriar, & Carl Alexander.
WORDCAMP MONTREAL 2012: AUGUST 18-19
In 2012, we had almost 350 attendees. WordCamp Montreal 2012 was again organized by Jeremy Clarke, Shannon Smith, Brendan Sera-Shriar, & Carl Alexander.
WORDCAMP MONTREAL 2013: JUNE 29-30
In 2013, we had almost 400 attendees. WordCamp Montreal 2013 was organized by Jeremy Clarke, Shannon Smith, Carl Alexander, Alex Ruaux, Richard Archambault, & Kirk Wight.
WORDCAMP MONTREAL 2014: AUGUST 16-17
In 2014, we had just over 400 attendees. WordCamp Montreal 2014 was organized by Jeremy Clarke, Shannon Smith, Carl Alexander, Alex Ruaux, and Richard Archambault.
