Happy new year to everyone!! We are starting 2012 with another edition of our mostly-monthly developer meetup on February 2nd. We hope you can join us this time to go over some new topics related to WordPress. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Due to our recent growth, we have changed\u00a0venue\u00a0from devLAB<\/a> (Thanks devLAB!!!) to TP1<\/a>. It’s still at a very convenient location downtown, but near the Peel station. We hope you like it!<\/p>\n

WHO IS THIS FOR
\nAny plugin or theme developer! Some PHP knowledge will be required. This meet up will be centered around PHP coding for WordPress and will be dealing with PHP issues at various skill levels (starter to advanced). Also, this is also a great place for those wishing to learn more about WordPress development.<\/p>\n

EVENT FORMAT
\nWe will be hosting a workshop discussing one or two topics from the list below. If you\u2019d like us to cover a specific topic on this or have topics you would like us to cover, feel free to let us know by commenting in this event. We will be posting the topics for this month\u2019s event a few days prior to the meetup following your feedback<\/p>\n

TOPICS
\nKirk Wight will be discussing the theme review process at Automattic. As a theme reviewer, he will be able to share his unique insight into the process as well as common pitfalls that you can avoid with your theme when it is submitted to the directory. Great for anyone into theme development!<\/p>\n

Just a reminder to bring your laptop (if you have one) as well as some questions or coding\/development issues you’d like to talk about as a group. If you have a lesson you learned that you’d like to share with the group bring that along too.<\/p>\n

Vous n’avez pas besoin d’\u00eatre un expert, mais vous devriez conna\u00eetre PHP, puisqu’il sera principalement question de programmation PHP pour WordPress. Il s’agit \u00e9galement d’une excellente occasion de s’initier au d\u00e9veloppement WordPress pour un d\u00e9veloppeur travaillant avec d’autres syst\u00e8mes de gestion de contenu.<\/p>\n

\nIl s’agit d’un atelier o\u00f9 seront m\u00e9lang\u00e9s discussion et travail pratique, en lien avec un ou deux des sujets mentionn\u00e9s ci-bas.
