In existence for only two years, WPTeach and its proprietor, Al Davis, has quickly made itself an important hub for all things WP: platform news, tutorials, event announcements, user discussion, theme and plugin reviews, community news and more.<\/p>\n<p>Now, we\u2019re very happy to announce that Al is bringing something a little different to the table, and has chosen to let us here in Montreal have the first shot at it. On October 19, Al will host a workshop for a limited number of beginner-level students to receive hands-on instruction with WordPress. This six-hour intensive class is designed to make you \u201ca confident and competent WordPress user in a single day\u201d\u2014it stems from the curriculum of his Intro to WordPress course at George Brown College where he\u2019s been teaching for the past three years.<\/p>\n<p>The content that Al promises to deliver to his students in this workshop is too extensive to list here, but you can read all about <a href=\"http:\/\/wpteach.com\/intro-to-wordpress-montreal-workshop-october-19\">here<\/a>. We know Al enough to know that if he promises it, he WILL deliver, so you can register with confidence! You will get your money\u2019s worth in terms of WP instruction\u2014and more than a few cat jokes, as well!<\/p>\n<p>Al has been co-organizer of two very successful WordCamp Toronto events and of the Meetup groups Toronto WP Group and Toronto WP Developers Group. In addition to WPTeach, he has written for <i>Torque<\/i>, the new publication of WPEngine, and WPMU. As a speaker at many WordCamps (North Canton, Montreal, Toronto, Buffalo, Hamilton, Ottawa), he\u2019s developed a reputation for being an excellent teacher with a fun, no-nonsense approach to working with WordPress\u2014so much so that, at his most recent speaking appointment, the room was filled to overflowing and attendees lined the hallway adjacent to be able to hear his talk!<\/p>\n<p>With registration limited to only 12, you won\u2019t have to listen in from the hallway. You\u2019ll have Al\u2019s full attention\u2014and expertise\u2014all day. Almost makes us wish we were beginners again so we could sign up ourselves!
